The American River College Math Integration Bee puts bright math students to the test in a challenging competition
Students earned the right to participate in the American River College Math Integration Bee by their excellence throughout the semester in their mathematics classes. A full crowd packed the auditorium, all vying for a chance to win the title of champion.
During the Bee, students worked on whiteboards side by side, each working to solve the same tough math questions. One by one students were eliminated from the competition, but the crowd remained to root for their favorite competitors.
Rocio Owens, American River College Mathematics Professor stated, “One of the things that we often times hear is that people dislike math. I wish that people could see this room because there are so many people that are here because we all embrace math.”
