Studio Profile
The atmosphere in the studio at Cordova High School is truly a special place. It’s not often you find a classroom where the teacher has just as much energy and enthusiasm as the students, but that is exactly what you will find at this SEVA Studio. Mr. Creeger and his students took on the task of creating a media broadcast for their school after realizing how great a need there was for communicating important information around campus in a fun and interesting way.
The media program at Cordova High School gives every students who takes the class a new way to express themselves. Many of these students then go on to pursue a career in media, something they had never though possible before. Each year a student from Folsom Cordova Unified School District has the opportunity to intern with the District Office, and for the past two years this student has come from Mr. Creeger’s Class. SECC has also greatly benefited from these talented students and has brought several on as part time Production Assistants. It is always a pleasure to see how Cordova High School students are able to grow from the program and get real world experience where they can showcase all the skills that they have perfected in the classroom.

SEVA Teacher Joshua Creeger
While he is a science teacher at heart, Mr. Creeger’s fervent spirit has led him to teach media production as well as take on the job of activities director. It is inspirational to watch how he helps strengthen his students’ education, as well as the entire campus community through his media training. Several of his students have gone on to work in video production for the Folsom Cordova Unified School District as well as for SECC. Each student that comes into Mr. Creeger’s classroom has a different background and a different way of learning. He channels this and encourages the students to share what they know with each other. He has two levels of media classes and watching the students come together to collaborate and teach each other is what the SEVAs are all about. What is even more amazing about Mr. Creeger is the fact that he is teaching at the high school he attended and has been able to create a program for the students that was not available when he attended. Mr. Creeger is an example of what true dedication and passion are all about.
