In 1969, Chicano artists in Sacramento created an artistic collective called the Rebel Chicano Art Front (humorously renamed the Royal Chicano Air Force) to express the goals of the Chicano civil rights movement. The RCAF worked diligently to promote and make available to the public artistic, cultural, and educational programs and events. Join History Professor Ricardo Catón and members of the Royal Chicano Air Force as they discuss the RCAF’s history and their continued contributions to art and civil rights in the United States.
