In Elk Grove Unified we stand up for each other, even if it has to be 6 feet apart. Our schools have been closed since March 9th and together, we can get through another couple of weeks. Our update today focuses on our task force work and progress and as we head into the weekend, we want to help our parents and families access information about a variety of community resources.
In a nutshell, for our students and parents, we are all committed to finishing the 4th Term and completing the 2019-2020 school year. Our education services team is working diligently to prepare a launch of our EGUSD Distance Learning that will meet the needs of all of our students.
We have groups mobilized to gear up for a mid to late April start-up of getting back to formal learning. In the meantime, let’s care for everyone’s wellness during these unusual times. In Elk Grove Unified, We believe in Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Healthy Learning. We are building out our EGUSD Family Resources web page with activities, community resources and social emotional learning.
Over the weekend, we encourage parents to check out many of these resources like local food banks, counseling services and more. Remember, while EGUSD schools are closed, Comcast is offering free Internet for low income families through their Internet Essentials program for 60 days and have made all XFinity Wifi Hotspots across the country open and free.
Please continue to subscribe to the Elk Grove Unified School District’s YouTube Channel. And, we ask that all residents #StayAtHome and pay attention to the state and county orders of stricter social distancing measures and self-isolation if symptomatic of the COVID-19 virus. Thank you for your continuing support. Please stay tuned for our ongoing daily communications that are also available online.
