EGUSD: iSEE Institute
In early 2015, EGUSD convened an Integrating Science and Engineering Education (iSEE) Program Design Team consisting of school district and university partners. Based on survey findings from a needs assessment that polled EGUSD and FCUSD teachers to assess their professional development needs, the iSEE project was developed, building on the design of previously successful models of science professional development partnerships between the EGUSD and the Sacramento Area Science Project and addressing the need for content and strategies that integrate Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) with engineering.
The iSEE project will result in student mastery of science and engineering concepts, increased teacher content knowledge and stronger instructional practices. The iSEE project has been co-developed by experts in the field of science education and designed to meet the assessed needs of teachers and their students.
