Connecting Kids to School with After School Sports
Natomas Unified School District has launched an elementary school sports program aimed at providing an after-school activity that helps connect kids to their schools. Nearly 350 kids have signed up for the program, which currently offers flag football and volleyball in the fall, basketball in winter, and soccer in spring. Beyond building friendships, practicing teamwork and good citizenship in sports, the program provides social, emotional and academic benefits that go far beyond winning or losing.
