The Sacramento County Teachers of the Year program recognizes excellence in teaching within the county’s schools. Participating districts nominate individual teachers to receive this special recognition. The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) also nominates one of its teachers to compete. Due to COVID-19, we were unable to host our usual Teachers of the Year awards recognition dinner where two teachers are identified as the Sacramento County Teachers of the Year and are then eligible to participate in the statewide program. Instead, we are hosted a Zoom session with the teachers where we recognized them and announced the winning teachers.
