Program Idea: This idea was formed while reading the book “Uglies”. I was inspired to write a poem about beauty standards and from there made a video to go along with it.
Message: The message of this video is to be true to yourself. The mask symbolizes the expectations of others. The girl is wearing the mask because she feels like she needs to be perfect, but over time her mask has begun to crack from the pressure of others. At the end of the video she throws away her mask, therefore freeing herself of living up to other’s expectations. When throwing away her mask, her world turns bright with color.
