Program Idea: Tasked with creating a documentary for a school project, we landed upon the issue of automation in today’s high-tech industry, how workers have begun to be replaced by machines, and the lasting effects on the corporations and the corporate worker alike. To bring more light to this fast-approaching pandemic, we decided to make a documentary about Automation & the Industry.
Message: For the most part, automation has gone under the radar. Sure, news headlines sporadically proclaim the end of working America, but no real concerns have been raised, especially so by American politicians (e.g. the President). We hope the 2020 Presidential elect will hold the problem of automation in high regard, and properly inform their citizens of the gravity of robot replacements in the workforce.
