Pay It Forward Week 2017
Students in the district kicked off a week of good deeds by “paying it forward” to their peers, families and San Juan Unified staff last Monday. Like the 2000 movie starring Kevin Spacey, students were encouraged to repay a good deed by doing another for someone else, starting a chain reaction of kindness.
Students were also encouraged to bring attention to their good deeds on social media using the hash tag #SanJuanForAll. Several posts online helped spread awareness of the “pay it forward” movement at San Juan Unified. Carriage Drive Elementary shared an image of a “giving tree” created by students. Another mom posted to Facebook that her son helped her cook dinner and explained that she would now “pay it forward.”
